Abstract

"This Just In" piece on "Free Fare Fridays," a Greater Portland Transit District promotion that allows residents to ride the Metro bus for free on Fridays throughout December. The plan is an attempt to get people out of their cars and show them the mass-transit option. Metro's most recent survey reports it gave 1.4 million rides in 2005.
