Abstract

"politics and other mistakes" piece on independent gubernatorial candidate Elwin "Al" Martin, 70, of Gray. In 1994, Martin was arrested in Biddeford and charged with drug trafficking, promoting prostitution, and sexual exploitation of minors. He eventually pleaded no contest to lesser charge and was sentenced to 70 days in jail. At the time of his arrest, Martin was running for Cumberland County Sheriff.
