Abstract

Feature article on a national shortage of childhood and adult vaccines and the affect it has had on public health in Maine. Vaccines still in short supply include Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (DTap), with the shortage expected to end by late summer; Varicella (chicken pox), with the shortage expected to end in August, 2002; and Pneumococcal (PCV/Prevnar), with the shortage expected to end during the last quarter of 2002 or later.
