Abstract

"this just in" piece on a group called Portland Pesticide Watch, which announced on Aug. 20 it had collected more than 1,000 signatures supporting a call for the city's Department of Public Works to desist in their use of Roundup, a common herbicide, in eliminating weeds throughout the Portland area. According to the group, chemicals in Roundup have been linked to cancer, genetic defects, and reproductive problems.
