Abstract
Painters Charles DuBack and Maurice Freeman will be featured in special summer exhibits at Greenhut Galleries in Portland. DuBack attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1950, and moved to Tenants Harbor in 1990. The DuBack exhibit, "From Lake Shore Drive, Nokomis, Florida," runs through July 29. Greenhut Galleries' Wes LaFountain explains that Freedman started coming to Maine in the 1940s, and his contemporaries included Marsden Hartley. "Maurice Freedman: A Modernist Perspective: Maine and Beyond," runs August 3 - September 2.
