Abstract

Article on artists' lofts in Portland, with a focus on Random Orbit's conversion of a "silver box" industrial building on Anderson Street into eight condo units. Real estate developer Peter Bass, a principal at Random Orbit, has focused on urban live/work spaces devoted to artists since 2000. Architect David Lloyd and Wright-Ryan Construction collaborated with Bass on the project.
