The Portland Police Department's mounted police division has quietly closed, and its three horses have been retired or changed owners. Akari, who has arthritis, is living in Gorham; Harry was given to his rider Detective Lisa Sweatt, who rides him for pleasure in Windham; and Solomon works with the Boston Park Rangers.
