Abstract
Profile of Diane Cowan, 47, of Friendship Long Island, founder of the Lobster Conservancy. Her research has been profiled in "The Secret Life of Lobsters," by Trevor Corson. Her career as "the Jane Goodall of lobsters" was given a boost when an investment corporation donated three failed commercial pounds on two islands to her conservancy. She has trained some 100 volunteers to help with her research from near the Canadian border to Massachusetts.
