"House of the month" piece on architect Sam Van Dam's 104 Neal St. brick Victorian in Portland, which is for sale for $848,500. In 1985, Van Dam added a maple-floored and -trimmed sunroom that opens to gardens. Van Dam and his wife, Jane Francisco, are restoring a home they inherited in Vermont, for their future retirement.
