Abstract
Profile of movie actress Jean Arthur (1900-1991), who as Gladys Georgianna Greene, moved at the age of eight to the vanished Marie Terrace near India Street in Portland's "Little Italy." Her father, Hubert S. Greene, operated The Lamson Studio and Longfellow Gallery for a short time. In 1912, the Greenses moved to Florida. Jean Arthur starred in many films, including "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town" and "Shane."
