To celebrate its 29th year, in this issue of Portland Magazine, the editors have reprinted some classics from their archives, along with new graphics and updates. This article on John Russwurm was originally published in Summerguide 1997. Article includes biographical information about Russwurm’s life, including his childhood in a house that still stands on Ocean Avenue in Portland and his time at Bowdoin College, where he delivered the commencement address.
