Abstract

"House of the Month." Description of the Knox Arboretum, founded by Norman Lermond in 1918 and now on sale for $45,000 by Dr. Terry Sokoloff. The property was once home to the Maine State Aboretum, but the property was given back to Lermond during the depression because of the state's inability to fund its upkeep. The building on the property housed the Knox Academy of Arts and Sciences, which published The Maine Naturalist.
