Abstract
Interviews with ten intriguing Mainers. The ten are: Deborah Walters, social activist who kayaked to Guatemala to raise money for Safe Passage; Ryan Flaherty, utility infielder for the Baltimore Orioles; Sheila Hill-Christian, acting Portland City Manager; James Walter Schildroth, architect who studied at the Wright Foundation at Taliesin; Melissa Smith, CEO of WEX, one of Maine’s biggest companies; Ashok Nalamalapu, founder of iCST, a technology and software company; Bradford Kenney, creative director of the Ogunquit Playhouse; Carol Leone, founder of Teens to Trails, a nonprofit organization that promotes high school Outing Clubs; Alan Taylor, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian; and Mary Bonauto, attorney who helped get DOMA repealed.
