Abstract

Interview of Tim Janis, the York, Maine-based composer and director of the new family musical, “The Button Girl” filmed primarily in Maine. Key locations for the film include Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunkport and the Victoria Mansion in Portland. Janis credits the support of the Maine community for the successful filming of the movie, including staff from the Ogunquit Playhouse, Lyric Music Theater, and Portland Players, as well as cinematographer Zack Richard and Steve Pulos , who filmed-behind-the-scenes footage. The film is set to be released in December 2015.
