Abstract
Meditations on "Three Whimsies" - a trio of unusually inspired homes in Maine. Norwoood Castle on Sebec Lake is discussed in an interview with John Parsons, grandson of original designer/builder Willis E. Parsons. Hunt Edwards, newest owner of Kennebunk's Wedding Cake House describes the daunting gamut of renovations he has pursued to salvage the crumbling property - and the large art collection (including works by Ogunquit artist Channing Hare) which was all but destroyed in the home's flooded basement. The article ends with a brief discussion of the Orgone Energy Observatory - now known as the William Reich Museum after the controversial scientist who lived and worked in the International Style building in Rangeley.
