Abstract

Profile of Richard Morin, Maine's only exclusive orchid provider, who has more than 11,000 assorted orchids at his Woodsprite Orchids nursery near Gray. Woodsprite has seen an increase in sales of the rare flowers nationally due to a surge of internet demand resulting from both the book "The Orchid Thief," by Susan Orlean, and the movie, "Adaptation." Morin said he got the orchid "calling" 35 years ago at the age of 11, while working at a Lewiston florist.
