Abstract

Article on the Mount Desert Island estates Rockridge and Hightower that are for sale as a package, along with 4.5 acres of land, for $3.7 million. Seller Tom Leddy, 56, an investment banker and world traveler, has filled his new residences with items he's collected all over the world, mainly from North Africa and Levant. Leddy says he never buys items to put into a property, but rather builds houses around the items themselves. In the case of Hightower, the building is octagonal because he bought an 18th-century ceiling in Marrakesh and built the building around it. Details.
