Abstract

"house of the month" piece on Wiscasset's Captain George Scott House, a rare octagonal brick landmark on the National Historic Register. The property, which sold for $420,000 two years ago, is now for sale at $575,000. The house has undergone a complete resoration and redecoration by seller/interior decorator Candace Leonard. Among other restoration finds, Leonard discovered and reopened four original fireplaces previously sealed with cement.
