Abstract

Article ranking the top 50 Maine attractions based on ticket purchases and visitor statistics provided by the Maine Office of Tourism. The number one attraction in Maine is also the state's biggest retail establishment--the Maine Mall, which draws 17 million shoppers per year. Downtown Portland/Old Port ranks second with 3.3 million visitors annually. The L.L. Bean Retail Store in Freeport rounds out the top three with 3 million visitors a year.
