Abstract

"Real Estate" piece examining five of Maine's most exclusive homes for sale. Highland Rose in Bar Harbor is being offered for $7.83 million. Forty-two acre Hidden Court, a stone manor built in Cape Elizabeth in 1922 for Henry Robinson, is listed at $9.95 million. In Northeast Harbor, Pulitzer prize-winning biographer Samuel Eliot Morison's 6.68-acre estate is for sale for $7.25 million. Pulpit Rock, a 1997 shingle style home on 3.43 acres of oceanfront in Cape Elizabeth, is being offered for $4.295 million. The Jewel of Rockport, in Rockport, is listed at $5.5 million. In the last five years, 469 Maine homes have sold for more than $1 million, while 265 are currently on the market.
