Abstract
Detailed description of "Rockwell Kent: The Mythic and The Modern," an exhibition of over 130 paintings, drawings and prints that will be on view at the Portland Museum of Art (PMA) from June 23 through October 16. The exhibit is guest curated by Kent scholar Jake Milgram Wien of New Hampshire. Jessica Nicoll, chief curator at PMA, says the show will shed new light on Kent's role in shaping modernist art and ideas. Kent, who lived for several years on Monhegan Island, was a painter, graphic artist, architectural draftsman, loberstman and progressive advocate.
