Abstract

Profile of photographer Ozzie Sweet, 87, of York Harbor, who has 1,800 magazine covers to his credit. His first baseball portraits date to 1947, when he was shooting covers for Newsweek. He became a master at setting up elaborate scenes, which he sold to every type of magazine. He also filled a series of 18 books with his wildlife photos. Today he creates half a dozen calendars every year and still does baseball portraits for magazines like Sports Illustrated. His "The Boys of Spring: Timeless Portraits from the Grapefruit League, 1947-2005," was just released. With details of his shoots with Ingrid Bergman, Albert Einstein, Grace Kelly, and Bob Hope.
