Abstract

"Chowder" piece on "Cleophas and His Own," an epic poem by Maine-based painter Marsden Hartley that was recently made into a film by Michael Maglaras. The story is based on Hartley's ill-fated love for a family in Nova Scotia. Filmed largely in Corea, Peaks Island, and Wolf's Neck with a Maine crew, the film screens September 28 in Waterville and will be available on DVD this month.
