Abstract

"You Can't Get There From Here" piece on Maine places that are difficult or impossible to access. With descriptions of Mistake Island off Jonesport; the Mt. Kineo House, which burned in 1936; the lighthouse tower at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth, once owned by actor Gary Merrill; the Kennebunk Tunnel under the Maine Turnpike, which has been permanently sealed; and J.P. Morgan's private cabin, located deep in the Maine woods.
