Abstract

Financial problems at Mid-Maine Waste Action Corp. in Auburn will probably result in higher trash-disposal costs and one-time assessments for the regional trash cooperative's 12 member communities. Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co., which secures the $43.1 million in bonds sold by the communities to finance an incinerator, wants the cooperative's finances addressed before it extends its letter of credit beyond January 31.
