Abstract

Local 14 of the United Paperworkers International Union and Local 246 of the International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers, both of which were decertified at International Paper Co. in Jay, have filed suit in U.S. District Court in Bangor to challenge the nullification of a recall list of 150 former strikers who had been laid off. An agreement reached at the end of a strike had outlined recall rights of striking workers, but IP is now claiming that the agreement is no longer valid. Details.
