Abstract

Police say that the use of crack cocaine in the area has increased over the last several months from a number of prostitutes in Portland's Parkside neighborhood to between 200 and 300 users throughout Greater Portland. Authorities believe the drug is being brought into the area from its source around Lowell, Mass., and have no reason to think it is being manufactured locally. Details.
