Abstract

The Atlantic Surf Clam might be harvested year-round without a license. The most popular and productive areas for the clams in the Portland area are Higgins Beach in Scarborough and between Pine Point in Scarborough and Ferry Beach in Saco. With recipes and telephone numbers to call to help avoid digging in contaminated areas.
