Abstract

American Rivers, an environmental advocacy group based in Washington, D.C., has rated the Penobscot River the nation's seventh most endangered because of the proposed Basin Mills hydroelectric project. The group says the proposed dam and power station doom what has been a successful salmon restoration project.
