Abstract

Long, detailed article about efforts to preserve the 140-year-old remains of the clipper ship Snow Squall, which was launched in South Portland in 1851. Last week about 50 conservationists and archaeologists representing 50 nations met in Maine to attend a conference and offered valuable advice to Molly O'Guinness Carlson who is the conservator at the Spring Point Museum in South Portland where the Snow Squall is being treated.
