Abstract

The United Way is using stock photographs on three posters which it has distributed to businesses and organizations participating in this year's fund-raising campaign. The posters feature photographs of children and have captions explaining the circumstances under which the children are supposedly living. A United Way spokeswoman defended the use of the stock photos, saying that the message behind the photo is what is important, not the photo itself. Details.
