Abstract
Broccoli has become a new crop harvested in Aroostook County, as the potato market declined. Three major growers in Maine, H. Smith Packing, Ayer of Maine Packers, and Arrow Farms, harvest the bulk of the 3,000 acres farmed annually. Migrant laborers from the Phillipines and Mexico make up much of the workforce.
