Abstract
The three-year-old Odd Fellows Theatre in Buckfield, housed in an old Odd Fellows building, is also the home of Buckfield natives Mike and Kim Miclon. Their mailing list has over 2000 family names, 250 of whom are from Buckfield. Families routinely thank the Miclons for running a place where they can bring small children, teenagers, or aging parents. The Early Evening Show, co-hosted by Jason Tardy and Mike on the first Saturday of every month, has sold out 29 of 30 performances. Mike Miclon trained with Tony Montanaro at the Celebration Barn Theatre in South Paris; Montanaro trained with renowned mime Marcel Marceau in France; and Tardy apprenticed with Mike. Jason, his brother Matt, and Mike perform all over Maine under the name Fusion. The Miclons, who have three children, talk about the challenges of the theater and how their priority is to separate their family life from its demands.
