Mary Going and Martha Rynberg of Portland are bringing up their adopted daughter Olivia Rhynberg-Going. Though they love Maine, they will soon move to Berkeley, California, because of its racial diversity, the existence of more families like their own, and the fact that their family unit can be protected under the law.
