Abstract
Scott Hatch, owner of the Barn Wright, Inc., and his apprentices, Dave Rose and Joe Marshall, true a 200-year-old barn in Hollis Center that was distorted by a misguided addition. He examines a Sebago barn in disrepair and gives the owner details on its architectural history. Proficient in rigging, excavating, stone masonry, and timber framing, he says he can restore almost any barn. He lives in Harrison with his wife, Jan, in a restored 1819 barn on land his parents bought when he was young. That site, Scribner's Mill, has the only early up-and-down water-powered sawmill on an original site with original buildings and equipment.
