Abstract

"Maine Journal." From 1980 to 1988, the number of cars registered in Maine grew from 531,000 to 833,000, vastly outpacing population growth of 7 percent. Turnpike commuter pass sales have quadrupled in six years. Commuting overall is increasing throughout the state.
