Abstract

Thirteen months and more than $7.3 million later, renovated sections of the Portland Public Library's Monument Square branch re-open to the public today. Besides significant infrastructure improvements, Executive Director Steve Podgajny said "we wanted to set a whole new level of energy and engagement for the library on Monument Square." Along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today with city officials and local dignitaries, the library has planned a week of events.
