Abstract

The Maine Comic Arts Festival, presented by Casablanca Comics, has added a day of free panels and workshops at the Portland Public Library on Saturday, prior to the event at Ocean Gateway Terminal, where more than 100 comic writers, artists, and publishers will share their work with fans. The day at the library will focus on integrating comic books and graphic novels into educational settings and includes a cartooning workshop. Casablanca has been working with libraries for 20 years in an attempt to integrate comics into the classroom.
