Abstract

Hancock Timber Resource Group and Wagner Woodlands have proposed exchanging rights to log in parts of the White Mountain National Forest in Maine and New Hampshire for conservation rights on some of Hancock's 454,000 acres in the Northeast. The study of the pros and cons of the proposal would take a year, and Hancock/Wagner wants Congress to authorize the study this year.
