Abstract
The roots of DeLorme Publishing Co. go back to 1976, when David DeLorme set about creating the Maine Atlas and Gazeteer. Around 53 employees out of a staff of 180 left the company in 1995, and some depict the company as as unstable workplace subject to the whims of David DeLorme. Three human rights complaints have been filed against the company in three years, and former employees say DeLorme has earned a reputation as one who would use any form of legal intimidation in conducting business.
