Abstract
The planned merger of SKI Ltd. and LBO Enterprises into the Ski America Company will create the largest ski company in the United States, and will acount for at least 3.5 million skier visits annually. Some Maine skiers are concerned that the merger will result in higher lift ticket prices, but Skip King of LBO Enterprises said such a move would run counter to owner Leslie B. Otten's philosophy. Officials at Maine ski areas not involved in the merger say they hope to benefit from the merger through Otten's plans to bring more skiers to the state. Details.
