Abstract

Details on three pieces of legislation being pushed by the nursing home industry. One bill attempts to reduce the volume of paperwork that nursing homes must file with the Maine Department of Human Services to get Medicaid reimbursements, while another attempts to ease financial and medical eligibility requirements. The third attempts to recover Medicaid payments based on a patient's condition three months prior to entering a home. DHS opposed the three bills.
