Abstract
Feature article on Harvey Prager, who received a five-year alternative sentence for marijuana smuggling in 1988 which called for him to care for terminally ill AIDS patients. Probation authorities say Prager is in compliance with his sentence, but AIDS activists question his commitment to the cause and others wonder how he can be nearing completion of law school if he has been living under the guidelines of the sentence.
