Abstract
Peggy Rockefeller, a part-time resident of Seal Harbor, died March 26 at age 80. Rockefeller was instrumental in the founding of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust in 1970, and she and husband David eventually donated 11,000 acres of family property to Acadia National Park. A week before her death, Rockefeller faxed a message to state senator Jill Goldthwaite concerning a proposed amendment to the state's shoreland zoning laws. Goldthwaite mentioned the message during the debate on the amendment, prompting the Senate to adjourn in her honor.
