Abstract

Details on the 117th Maine Legislature's work in the area of environmental legislation. The 1995-96 session may well be remembered for a shift in attitudes away from environmental protection. One bill, LD 1853, overhauled the state's so-called site law, while another, LD 1854, relaxed environmental regulations covering gravel pit excavations.
