Abstract

Details on the March meeting of the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission, during which the commission discussed revising the latest draft of a new comprehensive land use plan for the state's 10 million-acre unorganized territory. There were unusual circumstances that produced the apparent conservation mandate, but the makeup of LURC has since changed. Related articles on Mary Beth Dolan, the newest member of LURC; and the concept of remoteness. The word appears 50 times in the first 93 pages of the proposed plan.
