Profile of Maine Poet Laureate Kate Barnes, the state's first poet laureate. Barnes is the daughter of author Henry Beston and Elizabeth Coatsworth, the poet, essayist and children's author. Poet Philip Booth was the unanimous choice of the selection committee, but he declined the honor.
