Abstract

First District Democratic congressional candidate Tom Allen used this year's Kennebec Whatever Race to reiterate his support for the environment and criticize his opponent's stands. U.S. represenative James B. Longley Jr. said Allen's comments were a cheap shot, but continues to slam federal environmental regulators. Longley's environmental ratings are among the lowest in history for a Maine representative.
