Abstract
Toyota's Off Highway Family Adventures magazine selected the "Katahdin Perimeter Road" as one of the best places for off-road vehicle driving. Baxter State Park Superintendent Buzz Caverly says the park is off limit to off-road driving, and the park perimeter road, as it is more properly called, does not require four-wheel-drive vehicles. The perimeter road was never meant to be a scenic drive, but is supposed to give access to the trailheads.
