Abstract
Friends of Acadia, the group opposing logging on a private parcel on Schoodic Point, has been in touch with the parcel's owner, Siren Management of New York. Plans to log the parcel prompted a public outcry last spring, resulting in a moratorium that would give FOA, the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and Acadia National Park time to find a buyer for the parcel. Dave Warren Company of Ellsworth, the forester in charge of the logging operation, withdrew from the deal in September. The nonprofit groups have found three individuals interested in acquiring the land, and they have been in contact with the owner.
